If you have a medical condition that means you need extra support or protection for your hands or wrists, you are absolutely welcome to wear gloves. However, for everyone else we discourage the use of gloves. Developing the necessary strength and tolerance in your hands and grip is crucial. Regular practice without gloves helps improve your grip strength and overall hand resilience, which are essential for aerial hoop.
-
I am not going to lie to you, it is not the most comfortable thing in the world, The feeling of the hoop or silk on your skin and the pressure it exerts on various parts of your body can take some getting used to. However, this is a normal part of the process. Over time, your body will adapt, developing increased strength, flexibility, and tolerance. Regular practice will help you build resilience and enhance your ability to perform intricate movements with greater ease and less discomfort.
-
This is a common concern for beginners, but don't worry, we have instructors on hand to teach you the correct techniques and provide support to help get you into the hoop. It may take some patience and some perseverance however you may surprise yourself and get in the hoop during your first class.
-
Like any physical activity, aerial arts do come with inherent risks. However, when practiced with proper guidance, safety measures, and equipment, the risks can be minimized. You will only train under the supervision of a qualified instructor who will teach you the correct techniques and ensure you use the equipment safely.
We always use mats under all of our equipment and perform thorough safety checks on all of our apparatus on a regular basis.
So while there is always some level of risk, with the right precautions and training, aerial arts can be a safe and rewarding activity.
